The Asian World Journal of Innovation in Agricultural Science and Technology (JIAST) is dedicated to upholding ethical standards throughout the publication process. Our commitment to publication ethics is essential for fostering trust, integrity, and credibility within the academic community. All parties involved in the publication process—including editors, reviewers, and authors—are expected to adhere to ethical principles and contribute responsibly to the journal’s success.

Editor Responsibilities

  1. Fair and Impartial Review Process
    Editors ensure that each manuscript undergoes a fair and unbiased review process based on its academic merit and relevance, regardless of the authors’ race, gender, ethnicity, nationality, or affiliation.
  2. Confidentiality
    Editors maintain the confidentiality of all submissions, sharing information only with authors, reviewers, or editorial board members as needed.
  3. Conflict of Interest
    Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where there may be a conflict of interest with any of the authors or institutions involved.
  4. Decision-Making
    Editors are solely responsible for accepting or rejecting manuscripts based on the peer-review results and the work’s originality, relevance, and contribution to the field.
  5. Investigation of Ethical Misconduct
    In cases of suspected ethical misconduct, editors will initiate an investigation and take necessary actions, including publishing corrections, issuing retractions, or banning future submissions by the author(s) if warranted.

Reviewer Responsibilities

  1. Objective and Constructive Evaluation
    Reviewers should provide an objective, constructive, and timely evaluation of manuscripts, focusing on the work’s quality, originality, and clarity while avoiding personal comments or biases.
  2. Confidentiality
    Manuscripts assigned for review should be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, discuss, or reference the manuscript with others without editor approval.
  3. Conflict of Interest
    Reviewers should disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may affect their impartiality and recuse themselves if necessary.
  4. Acknowledgment of Sources
    Reviewers should identify relevant work that has not been cited by the authors and point out any overlap with previously published material.
  5. Ethical Concerns
    If reviewers suspect plagiarism, data manipulation, or any other ethical misconduct, they should notify the editor, providing a clear basis for their concerns.

Author Responsibilities

  1. Originality and Plagiarism
    Authors must ensure that their submitted work is original, properly referenced, and free from plagiarism. All sources and contributions must be accurately credited.
  2. Data Accuracy and Integrity
    Authors should present their data accurately and honestly, with transparency in methods and findings. Fabrication or falsification of data is strictly prohibited.
  3. Acknowledgment of Funding and Contributions
    Authors must disclose all sources of financial support and acknowledge individuals who have contributed to the research or writing of the manuscript.
  4. Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
    Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the research results or interpretation.
  5. Authorship and Contribution
    Only those who have made significant contributions to the research should be listed as authors. All co-authors must approve the final version and consent to its submission.
  6. Reporting Errors
    If authors identify significant errors in their published work, they should promptly notify the editor to issue a correction or retraction as necessary.
