Review and Publication Process
The Asian World Journal of Innovation in Agricultural Science and Technology (JIAST) is committed to a rigorous and transparent review and publication process to ensure the quality, integrity, and relevance of published research. Below is a step-by-step outline of our process, from initial submission to final publication.
1. Initial Submission and Editorial Check
Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial assessment by the editorial team. This review ensures that the paper aligns with the journal’s scope, meets formatting requirements, and is free from obvious ethical concerns, such as plagiarism or conflict of interest.
- Timeframe: Within 1-2 weeks of submission.
2. Peer Review Process
Following the initial editorial check, eligible manuscripts proceed to a double-blind peer review, where the identities of authors and reviewers remain anonymous. The review process typically involves two or more independent experts who assess the manuscript based on originality, methodological rigor, clarity, relevance, and contribution to the field.
- Timeframe: The peer review process generally takes 4-6 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and response times.
3. Reviewer Feedback and Revisions
Based on the feedback from reviewers, the editor will provide one of the following decisions:
- Accepted with Minor Revisions: Authors are requested to make small modifications before final acceptance.
- Accepted with Major Revisions: Authors need to make significant changes and resubmit for a second round of review.
- Rejected: The manuscript does not meet the standards for publication and is returned to the authors with feedback.
Authors are encouraged to address all reviewer comments and submit a revised manuscript along with a response letter detailing how each comment was addressed.
- Timeframe: Authors typically have 2-4 weeks for minor revisions and 4-6 weeks for major revisions.
4. Final Decision and Acceptance
Once the revisions are completed and approved by the reviewers, the editor will make the final decision on the manuscript’s acceptance. Accepted papers proceed to the copyediting and formatting stage.
- Timeframe: Final decisions are usually made within 1-2 weeks after revised submission.
5. Copyediting and Proofreading
Accepted manuscripts are carefully copyedited for language clarity, consistency, and adherence to the journal’s formatting guidelines. Authors are sent page proofs to review for any minor corrections.
- Timeframe: The copyediting and proofreading process typically takes 1-2 weeks.
6. Online Publication
After final approval, the manuscript is published online in the current issue of JIAST. As an open-access journal, JIAST makes all articles freely accessible to readers worldwide immediately upon publication.
- Timeframe: Once approved, articles are published online within 1 week.
7. Post-Publication Review and Indexing
Published articles are indexed in relevant databases and repositories to maximize their reach and citation potential. Authors are encouraged to share their work broadly to increase visibility within the scientific community.
